Valla Cranes Provides Hird Group with Special Valla 180ES

Valla Cranes has provided the Hird Group with a special version of the Valla 180ES—another example of Valla working with a customer to develop a bespoke lifting solution.

The crane will be used on the Hird fleet for rental and machine moving contracts. The main boom offers negative extension up to 10m radius and is capable of lifting 1,500kg.

The crane is based on the Valla 180E and boasts a new and improved fully hydraulic telescoping boom giving an overall boom height of 13m and a hydraulic fly jib that offers a tip height of 16m. The hydraulic fly jib also has a 40 degree sweep. The crane can lift and carry any load within its SWL.

Philip Hird, managing director, the Hird Group, worked closely with Valla Cranes to assist in the design and specifications of the Valla 180ES. He said: “Manual handling is a major problem within industry today and the Valla 180ES has been designed with this in mind. The idea was to have one crane to cover all requirements and assist both the end user and our own workforce to eliminate all manual handling.”

Full specifications are available from Valla Cranes UK and on the Hird website. Hird operates a wide range of Valla Cranes, access equipment and is one of the UK leaders in vacuum and glazing rental equipment. It operates from three locations in the UK, with each depot having access to a network of nationwide, factory-trained mobile service engineers. It has over 30 years of experience in the rent and sale of lifting and access equipment.
