Lift Turn Move Introduces New GIS GPM Electric Chain Hoist to the UK

Wirral, UK-based Lift Turn Move Limited (LTM) has launched the new GIS GPM electric chain hoist, which offers lifting capacities from 80kg to 250kg.

The GPM is the newest product from the GIS production line in Schötz, Switzerland and is the first model of the new GP electric chain hoist generation, designed to fit under existing capacity ranges. The GP range will eventually reach to 6.3t capacity.

At only 14kg, the hoist is lightweight but durable; it is particularly suited for repetitive handling of smaller loads. With a helically geared, three-step drive, it is quiet in operation and designed for a long working life with intense use (min. FEM 2m / ISO M5).

All shaft-hub connections are built with a polygonal design, allowing significantly faster disassembly and assembly during maintenance and reduced service costs. The manganese phosphate coated and case hardened Profile Steel Chain enables a chain diameter 7% smaller than round steel chain with the same load capacity. The control switch fits comfortably in the hand and is designed for long-term ergonomic operation.

Proven GIS components like the DC spring brake and dry-running slipping clutch are standard. The latter is effortless to maintain and accessible, while the gearbox contains permanent lubrication. The GPM series has contractor control and no sensitive electronics as per the philosophy of GIS.

Protection class IP65 is also standard on the GIS GPM electric chain hoist, which is protected against dust and water, suiting units for mobile and outdoor use. The GPM250 model handles 80kg to 250kg loads in one-fall operation.

A wide range of accessories and options are available for individual solutions; the user can also choose between eye- and hook-suspension, for example. The electrical power connection can be either three- or single-phase and there is a choice of different dual lifting speeds, while the lifting height can be increased up to 90m. In combination with GISKB aluminium or steel profiles, Lift Turn Move can offer tailored solutions with jib cranes or crane systems.

David King, LTM operations director, said: “We are delighted to add the GIS GPM electric chain hoist to our extensive product offering. This is the fourth generation electric chain hoist from GIS, developed over 50 years of manufacturing. GIS is a specialist in the design and manufacture of hoists suited to the most demanding environments in both industrial applications and the entertainment industry.” He added: “The product complements our existing range and creates new opportunities for our clients.”
