Italian Remote Control Supplier Challenges CeMAT

Marco Daturi, sales and marketing director at radio remote control supplier Telecrane Italia, has challenged CeMAT organisers to attract back the high profile overhead crane and hoist companies that missed the last show in May.

Having been staged every three years in recent history, the next show will now take place in 24 months, when it will be cut from five to four days. The shorter format is in line with the majority of organiser Deutsche Messe’s worldwide events as this increasing global presence leads an evolution process that leaves many uncertain as to the flagship show’s future.

Konecranes (in terms of its overhead crane and hoist division) and Demag were two notable absentees, both of whom have favoured regional and sector-specific trade events in recent times. CeMAT itself provides global variety; over the next few years it will put on shows in Russia, China, India, Turkey, Australia, Italy and South America.

Daturi believes the marquee show is suffering. He said: “The leading hoisting companies, like SWF, Konecranes, Abus, Demag and Donati Sollevamenti, were missing, which is like having a car show without Audi, BMW, Fiat, etc. A problem is CeMAT is being split in different local fairs and this is not acceptable for potential exhibitors.”

Telecrane used the 2014 show to exhibit the Silver Line, including the new Nova model with an integrated horn.
“These products are achieving resounding success as never before and are particularly appreciated for their reliability, practice in use and the excellent quality/price ratio,” said Daturi.

The Silver Ranger will be available from 2015. The product will be specially designed with display, selectors, new PLL technology for data feedback, PLC interfaces and a new memory system with e-Card, which is already a feature of the Silver Tender model.

He added: “We met new customers and potential customers [at CeMAT] but mainly we thank all the partners that joined us in Hanover from every side of the world.”

The top 15 visitor nations were the Netherlands, UK, Poland, the Czech Republic, Italy, Austria, France, the United States, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Russia, South Africa, and China.
