Kalmar to Launch New Electric Forklift at CeMAT | Industry News
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, will introduce a new G-generation electric forklift at CeMAT in May 2014; the forklift will enter the 6.5 ton counterbalance market.
The G-generation concept improves the synchronicity between truck and driver, increasing the operators' productivity and reducing costs of ownership. Most notably, the new electric forklift will feature Kalmar's EGO cabin, which has signficant upgrades to ergonomics and visibility.
Additionally the forklift's new electronic system features a number of energy-saving modes including power mode, normal mode, and economy mode which optimizes for lowest cost operation, delivering up to 10% energy savings.
"We are particularly excited about launching this truck at CeMAT," said Thomas Malmborg, vice president, forklift trucks at Kalmar. "This vehicle is specifically targeted at customers who demand technologically advanced equipment that combines high performance with low operational costs. It also provides a competitive advantage from a health and safety viewpoint. New environmental aspects have also been developed, meaning the vehicle is completely free of fossil fuels. The machine is exceptionally quiet to operate. In addition, we have made maintenance even simpler, thanks to an advanced electrical system which offers major savings potential."
The new Kalmar electric forklift will be displayed on stand D22, Hall 27 at CeMAT, May 19-23, 2014.
