Hyster Highlights Heavy-Duty Walkie Pallet Truck and New Engine Technology at Modex | Industry News
Hyster Company showcased its new W45Z heavy-duty walkie pallet truck and displayed its S60FT lift truck with a Kubota 2.5L engine at Modex 2014 last week.
Hyster's new W45Z wallkie pallet truck utilizes a heavy-duty fork frame and linkage with HTX bushings and is designed to perform in harsh applications. Hyster says the W45Z is one of the heaviest drive unit frames available because of its heavy duty steel drive frame and highly engineered drive unit casting.
The W45Z walkie features Hyster's Intelligent Lift that allows operators to simultaneously transport and lift pallets, improving operator productivity up to 25%; trucks equipped with this technology will automatically lift the pallet to the maximum fork height, without continually having to hold the lift button during transport. A The new walkie also comes with the option of Hyster's Intelligent Slow Down that recognizes when the operator turns the truck during cornering and automatically decreases speed, allowing stability to be maintained. Additionally, this feature allows the unit to be placed in turtle function in all handle run zones, minimizing the truck profile and improving maneuverability.
“The strong breadth of the Hyster product line allows us to meet even the smallest material handling challenges for our customers,” said Brett Schemerhorn, vice president of marketing for Hyster. “The new heavy duty walkie can address pallet truck application challenges and boost an operation’s productivity through a wide range of standard and optional features.”
Hyster intends on utilizing the new Kubota 2.5L engines on its S40-70FT four-wheel cushion tire and H40-70FT four-wheel pneumatic tire Fortis lift trucks to decease its customers' total cost of ownership. The new Kubota engine offers three performance modes, the main components of a diesel engine without using a lot of fuel, and reduces vibration and noise levels nine decibels less than the previous engine.
