CeMAT South America hailed huge success; forklifts on show
Visitors and exhibitors have hailed CeMAT South America a huge success after the curtain came down on the event which took place in São Paulo, Brazil, 19-22 March, 2013.
Some 237 exhibitors from 24 countries displayed their products and innovations at the Centro de Exposições Imigrantes with China, Germany, Italy and the U.S. representing the bulk of exhibits.
"The South American market offers the intralogistics sector some outstanding opportunities and excellent market potential, and Brazil plays a leading role in this growth," said Wolfgang Pech, senior vice president at Deutsche Messe AG.
Attracting a total of 18,236 visitors, CeMAT South America registered a 45 percent increase in attendance compared with 2011. The visitors came from a total of 28 countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Columbia, the U.S., Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela and, naturally, Brazil.
Clark, Hyster, Jungheinrich, Linde, Toyota and Yale were among exhibitors while Brazilian firm Paletrans showcased its new PR20i, a forklift truck with improved ergonomic features and optimised electronic control of the hoisting and lowering speeds.
CeMAT South America, which takes place every two years, is organised by Hannover Fairs Sulamérica, a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG.
