Straightpoint expands staff; doubles UK office
Following a record year of sales, resulting in a 60 percent increase in turnover, UK-based force measurement, load monitoring and suspended weighing load cells supplier Straightpoint is adding staff and doubling the size of its head office.
Straightpoint recently took on new business administration and calibration engineer apprentices, while UK sales manager Steve Woodhead and technical sales engineer for the US office John Molidor joined the team. Straightpoint’s most recent head office addition is calibration manager Wayne Chant.
Director David Ayling said: "Steve Woodhead has been appointed to liaise with lifting equipment distributors throughout the UK and Ireland. He has many years experience in the lifting equipment industry. John Molidor brings to the table his wealth of experience in technical sales, customer support and engineering roles. He is proving invaluable as the US office increases its North American market presence."
Ayling also welcomed Wayne Chant. "He’ll play a pivotal role within the company; with his UKAS laboratory / signatory experience, he’s superbly placed to help us work towards achieving the 17025 UKAS accreditation in 2013, hot on the heels of our recent BSI accreditation."
Ayling puts such growth down to additional distributors, launching a new hire and offshore service, and marketing a new wireless centre of gravity system, while "our reputation seems to be increasing for our robust products, speedy delivery and friendly, efficient customer service," he added.
Straightpoint supplies crane scales as well as tension and compression load cells to organisations in the UK and its 26 global distributors, collectively covering every continent.
