Konecranes Supplies Largest Goliath Gantry Crane to Brazilian Shipyard

Ecovix-Engevix Construcões Oceanicas S.A. (Ecovix-Engevix), a Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil-based shipyard that builds drill ships for the oil and gas industry, has ordered a Goliath gantry crane from Konecranes. The crane, which will be the largest Goliath gantry crane in the world in its combination of lifting capacity and rail span, will be delivered in October 2012.

With a lifting capacity of 2,000 tons and a span of 210 meters, the Goliath gantry crane will handle considerably larger blocks and shorten dry dock time for vessels.

The value of the order was not disclosed.
