Toyota Associate Giving Programs Benefit Local and National Charities

Toyota Material Handling U.S.A., Inc. (TMHU), Irvine, Calif., will donate a combined total of 1,714 meals to Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, Calif., and the Love Chapel of Columbus, Ind., where Toyota associates live and work.

This year, TMHU’s more than 150 associates also participated in the “Denim for Dollars” program. Each month a national nonprofit organization is chosen to receive donations from TMHU’s associates. In exchange for a minimum $5 donation per participant, TMHU’s associates wore wear jeans to work the last Friday of the month. As a result of the year-long program, TMHU associates raised $3,500, which was distributed among various charities.

In addition, TMHU associates donated 335 pounds of school supplies to benefit school children in need during the school year. Supplies were distributed through the Irvine Unified School District and the Lincoln Central Family Care Center in Bartholomew County, Ind.

Toyota also made a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions throughout the world.
