Stainless Steel Articulating Jib Crane Available for Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
The David Round Company, Streetsboro, Ohio, has announced a new line of all-stainless articulating jib cranes for pharmaceutical manufacturing. These jib cranes are ideal for lifting bulk bags or other materials up to 1,000 lbs. in clean room environments. Explosion-proof models of these jib cranes are available to meet the electrical standards required in hazardous environment processing areas.
The jib cranes feature fully enclosed mechanical components including wire rope hoist, gearbox and motor drum. Lift height and boom / knuckle configurations can be varied to meet customer specifications.
Special attention has been paid to jib crane surface quality to minimize contamination potential. Structural components are prepared with a glass bead finish that is applied in a dedicated in-house metal treatment facility. This results in smoother, more hygienic surfaces that are free of imperfections such as weld scars.
“This new articulating stainless steel jib crane with an enclosed wire rope hoist is a logical extension of David Round’s line of stainless steel lifting equipment,” said Matt Downing, director of sales and marketing and stainless steel product line manager at David Round. “The pharmaceutical manufacturing industry has come to rely on us for hoists, cranes, and winches that meet the rigorous requirements for clean room applications.”
In addition to stainless steel jib cranes, David Round designs and manufactures stainless steel hoists (chain hoists, wire rope hoists, and strap hoists), stainless steel end trucks, and stainless steel tractor drives. The company’s Ruger Industries division makes stainless steel floor cranes and other stainless steel portable lifting equipment.
