Bobcat Introduces 6,000-Pound Capacity Tool Carrier

Bobcat Co., West Fargo, N.D., has provided specs exclusively to industrialliftandhoist.com for its new 6,700-pound capacity V638 telescopic tool carrier.

Featuring a 38-foot lift height, the V638 offers a 5,000-pound capacity at full height and an 850-pound capacity at the maximum reach of 26 feet. Reach at the maximum height (24” load center) is 77 inches, and the maximum reach at practical placement height is 126 inches. The V638's operating weight is 18,275 pounds.

Powering the V638 is a 100-hp, four-cylinder Perkins 1104C-44T turbo-charged diesel engine. Because it is side-mounted, the engine and its components are easily accessible for service. The unit also features hydrostatic, four-wheel drive with two forward and two reverse speeds. Three steering modes are available: front wheel, all wheel, and crab.

The length of the V638 from the fork heel to the rear hitch is 219.8 inches, and the canopy height with beacon is 101.5 inches. Overall width is 87.2 inches. The machine's outside turning radius is 153.5 inches. Maximum travel speed is 18.37 mph.

Standard features on the V638 include auxiliary hydraulics, back-up alarm, canopy (ROPS), frame leveling, lateral operator restraint system, and power quick-tach. Attachments available on the V638 are the adapter frame, 84-inch angel broom, augers, 12-foot truss boom, 48- and 60-inch tilt carriage frame, and a variety of different size buckets and forks.
