Aichi USA Opens

Aichi Corp. of Japan has opened its new North American headquarters in Glen Burnie, Md. Alan Dotts has been named manager of Aichi USA, Inc., and he will be responsible for the development of sales and support of all self-propelled and truck-mounted aerial lifts throughout the United States and Canada.

According to Dotts, the facility is the first Aichi factory store in North America. Previously, Aichi products were distributed through independent dealers. “Plain and simply, this is the way it should be in order for the manufacturer to have total control over sales,” Dotts said.

Aichi USA's product offerings in North America will include the INH30A, INU38A, ISN50, ITZ50, ITZ65, ITZ65AC, ISK75A, and ISK90A truck-mounted units, which range from 30 to 90 feet, and ISR40, ISR40J, ISR60, ISR60J, ISR70, and ISR70J track-mounted telescopic boom lifts with platform heights ranging from 40 to 75 feet. Dotts said Aichi USA will have the first units ready for sale by September, and he expects to have a few million dollars worth of inventory available in North America by the end of the year.
