CareLift Announces Product Updates, New Machines in 2007

Throughout 2006, Breslau, Ontario-based CareLift Equipment Ltd.'s 20,000-pound capacity Zoom Boom telehandlers, the ZB20032 and ZB20044, have garnered a great deal of interest in North America. As Lift and Access 360 reported earlier this year, CareLift is the only North American manufacturer building machines with 20,000-pound capacities.

“The industry limitation for capacity is 12,000 pounds,” said Dave Bristow, vice president of sales and marketing. “Only a few manufacturers produce machines with that capacity, so the real limitation is 10,000 pounds.” According to Bristow, the company has doubled production of its 20,000-pound Zoom Boom telehandlers this year and is currently sold out through April 2007. Seven dealers from Alaska to Western Canada in the north and California to Louisiana in the south have one or more ZB20032 and ZB20044 telehandlers in their fleets.

Bristow also reported that effective first quarter 2007, the ZB20032 and ZB20044 telehandlers will have Tier III-compliant 160-hp Cummins engines. The first Tier III-compliant machine will be at shown at The Rental Show in February. Other product improvements at CareLift include a return to the Dana T20000 three-speed transmission on the ZB10044 and the ZB10056 at the end of first quarter 2007, which will offer better performance capabilities.

Lift and Access 360 also has learned exclusively that CareLift will be introducing a 12,000-pound capacity telehandler by June 2007. Using the 10,000-pound machine's platform, the 12,000-pound telehandler will have updated cylinders and components and will feature a three-section boom. Look for more details on this machine in upcoming issues of Lift and Access 360.

In other news, CareLift has overhauled its website, www.carelift.com. New features include an online parts and warranty section and dealer locator information to allow customers to obtain contact information for CareLift's 30 dealers in the United States and Canada.
