Terex Appoints New President and Chief Operating Officer
Terex Corp., Westport, Conn., has announced that Tom Riordan will join the company in the newly created position of president and chief operating officer. Effective Jan. 1, 2007, Riordan will report from the company's headquarters directly to Ronald M. DeFeo, who will continue to serve as chairman and chief executive officer.
Riordan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Administration from Purdue University. The newly named president and chief operating officer comes to Terex from SPX Corporation, where he held a series of division and segment president assignments leading to his most recent position as executive vice president and chief operating officer.
DeFeo welcomed Riordan to the company and looked forward to their future partnership. “Tom's demonstrated leadership ability and experience will help Terex move to its next level of growth and success,” DeFeo said. “He has a strong achievement driven personality coupled with an excellent management style that people respond to positively.
