Mustang’s New Telehandler Features Four-Story Lift Height
Mustang Manufacturing Co., Owatonna, Minn., added the new 8,000-pound Model 842 telescopic handler to its Value-Series product line. The 42-foot-tall 842 is for end-users who are looking for a four-story machine with extra reach at a lower price than Mustang's Model 844. According to Doug Snorek, Mustang's marketing manager, the 842 is suited for residential and smaller construction projects.
The new unit shares a boom design with the larger Mustang Deluxe Series Models 944 and 1155, which gives it extra durability. Components for operator enhancement include pilot operated joystick controls, a tilt cylinder, and an optional Work Platform System. A radio remote boom control is available as an option on the WPS System.
Other enhancements for the Mustang 842 include a rear-axle stabilizer cylinder that gives operators a stable four-point stance when the boom is raised over 60, ROPS/FOPS canopy with increased room for the operator and a storage area under the seat; and axles with internal wet disc brakes that dissipate heat more efficiently, increasing the service life of the brakes.
