Star Platforms Fit Cross to New Church

UK powered access rental company, Star Platforms, provided a Niftylift HR21D articulated boom lift to fit the aluminium cross to the newly built Baptist church at Botley in Oxfordshire.

 The new building is part of a regeneration project and relocation for the church and the final task was fitting the impressive new cross above the entrance to the building. Using a crane to move the large sections of the cross into place, the Niftylift HR21D diesel articulated boom lift was the perfect partner to line up the sections and safely attach the cross to the building.

“The cherry picker was a great asset to this job and saved us a lot of time with installation,”  said site manager Dick Planner. “The HR21D allowed us to reach around the sides of the building and access all the areas we required, whilst the outreach enabled us to boom across and over the pathway to maintain the finish on the new paving. Delivery was prompt, and we’ve found everyone at Star Platforms to be helpful and professional.”

The Niftylift HR21D offers a working height of 20.8m and outreach of 13m, which provided the flexibility required for operators to fix the cross into position while avoiding any damage to the new paving that had recently been laid. The 4×4 option added the stability and precision capability required while working on a construction site. The 160º cage rotation and a 150º fly-boom allowed them to accurately position themselves and move the cross into place.
