ProMat 2021 cancelled but ProMatDX to forge ahead
For the first time in ProMat’s 35 year history, Materials Handling Institute (MHI) has made the hard decision to not go ahead with the in-person exhibition that it hosts annually in Chicago, USA. It will be replaced with a digital event.
The MHI Board came to the conclusion that, because of the evolving Covid-19 pandemic and the current state and local regulations, it was not feasible to host a live event featuring attendees and exhibitors.
Instead, MHI will offer the ProMat Digital Experience (ProMatDX) which will run in April 2021. This will provide one digital platform where the industry can come together to find manufacturing and supply chain solutions, problem-solve, connect with their peers and learn the latest trends and innovations.
As supply chains remain crucial to global commerce, the industry needs solution-sourcing, education and networking that will help take their businesses to the next level of agility and resilience. ProMatDX will provide not only sponsor and attendee interaction but also the ability to see equipment and system solutions in action. This new digital experience will offer cutting-edge knowledge sessions, including keynote presentations and seminars from industry thought leaders.
John Paxton, COO/CEO designate, MHI said, “For 75 years, MHI has been here to serve this industry and to bring it together. While the ongoing pandemic makes it impossible to hold ProMat in person in 2021, connecting the industry and delivering value to our audiences is still our top priority. MHI is harnessing all of the power of the MHI and ProMat brands to continue to deliver this value digitally in 2021. We will utilise the most advanced technologies to connect all our audiences through the ProMatDX platform”.
