Kalmar forklifts for Finnish steel plant
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, will supply seven forklift trucks for Outokumpu’s Tornio stainless steel plant in Finland. The Q1 order will be delivered in Q2 and Q3 this year and includes a five year Essential Care service agreement.
Outokumpu’s Tornio plant is the most integrated stainless steel operation in the world. The plant consists of two melt shop lines, a hot rolling mill, a cold rolling plant, brushing and polishing as well as slitting and cut-to-length lines. The forklifts will be used to transport steel coils around the plant. They will join an equipment fleet that already includes Kalmar reachstackers and light and medium range forklift trucks.
The order includes four light 6t to 8t forklift trucks, two 12t medium forklift trucks and one 42t heavy forklift. Kalmar’s G-generation forklifts feature the latest in fuel-efficient technology and offer low total cost of ownership. They deliver superior uptime and reduced maintenance costs in demanding applications such as steel handling. Kalmar Essential Care service agreement will guarantee that customers can get local service and support whenever they need it.
