Merritts invest £250k in 16t capacity pick-and-carry crane
Heavy machinery moving company, Joseph Merritt Group Plc based in East Midlands, UK, has taken delivery of a new fully electric JMG MC-160 pick-and-carry cabin cruiser crane.
The £250,000 investment will further develop the company’s service offering, enabling it to meet the specialist demands of machinery manufacturers, agents, distributors, and manufacturing companies, and will secure their place as one of the UK’s leading machinery moving specialists.
Commenting on the investment, Richard Merritt, Director, said, “Over recent months, we have experienced a significant increase in demand for heavy machinery moving services in ‘clean’ industries such as food and pharmaceutical manufacturing where hygiene and cleanliness are of paramount importance. We also expect demand to be high for long term hire in key sectors such as plastics and rubber, automotive, and machine tool.”
He added, “JMG electric pick-and-carry cranes are state of the art. The crane’s unique componentry enables it to perform tasks which would otherwise require larger and more expensive lifting equipment, and its compact dimensions allow access to congested factory sites with ease.”
The new crane purchase is part of a continuous programme of investment to ensure the company has a modern fleet of vehicles and equipment to safely carry out machinery movement and installation projects for their customers.
Earlier in 2021, Merritts invested £400K on the JMG MC-580, a bigger version of the MC-160 pick-and-carry cabin cruiser.
