Rentem buys 53 Snorkel electric scissor lifts
Nuremberg, Germany-based rental company, Rentem has taken delivery of 53 custom-painted Snorkel electric slab scissor lifts.
This most recent order includes Snorkel S3215E, S3219E, S3226E, S4726E, S4732E models, as well as Snorkel’s new S4740E electric scissor lifts. The units were manufactured at Snorkel’s facility in the United Kingdom and finished with Snorkel’s industry-leading dual coat powder paint in Rentem’s lime green special paint colour. The order was placed by Rentem with Ahern Deutschland in August 2021, and all fifty-three units were delivered on the agreed date in rental ready condition, equipped with Rentem decals and with Trackunit telematics installed.
Founded in 2017, Rentem GmbH operates a fleet of more than 15,000 pieces of general and specialty construction equipment and mobile elevating work platforms, which it rents to tradespeople, contractors and the logistics sector, including accessories and trained operator personnel. Rentem is a one-stop solution for the selection and rental of large construction equipment and supports and delivers to projects throughout Europe. With an extensive network of partner companies, Rentem guarantees availability and fast delivery of the required equipment, anytime and anywhere. It uses digital technology to improve the efficiency and ease of handling large and complex projects for its customers.
In early 2020, Rentem placed its first order with Ahern Deutschland GmbH for several Snorkel scissor lifts, material lifts and the compact and lightweight Snorkel S3010E’s that were available for immediate delivery from their warehouse in Weyerbusch in the Westerwald region. This was the beginning of the cooperation between the companies that was further strengthened during an in-person meeting between two of the managing directors of Rentem, Jona Meier and Jens Krause, and Ahern Family of Companies owner, Don F Ahern, and Snorkel CEO, Matthew Elvin during Conexpo-Con/Agg 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since then, Rentem has invested in more than 80 Snorkel lifts, including 66 units purchased during 2021.
Speaking of their decision to invest in Snorkel products, Jona Meier, said, “We were looking for a new supplier who – like us – focuses on the customer. We were quickly impressed by the experience that Don Ahern brings to product design through his vast knowledge of the rental sector and are confident that this design concept will accelerate our growth enormously. By investing in sustainably designed products, we will need significantly less effort with maintenance and repairs, from which our customers will of course also benefit greatly.”
Jens Krause added, “The fact that Ahern Deutschland also keeps many machines in stock, which we can quickly have delivered for our short-term needs supports our belief that we have found an outstanding supplier. We also like that Snorkel focuses on using quality components in their production to maximise uptime of the equipment, which is critical in the rental industry. And last, but not least, the scissor lifts that have now been delivered are a new league in terms of quality.”
This most recent order was taken by Jürgen Müller, sales representative for Ahern Deutschland in Bavaria and Austria. “I am very happy to work with Rentem and enjoy our partnership. We share the same values which works very well.”
Bernhard Kahn, managing director at Ahern Deutschland added, “When Don Ahern became the majority stakeholder in Snorkel in October 2013, one of the first projects that he focused on was to redesign the electric scissor lift family. Designed utilising his years of rental experience, the new family of electric scissor lifts that launched in February 2015 boasted many innovative design features that not only reduced the risk of damage and loss while on rental, but also minimised downtime and service and maintenance, while delivering a long-working life.
“We are pleased that with Rentem we have found a customer who appreciates this concept and sees the benefit of their investment within their daily operations.”
