UKMHA presents the Archies 2022
For its inaugural Archies event UKMHA chose the theme of Hollywood Glamour and from the moment the capacity audience entered the VIP Lounge there was a real sense of dinner and the awards ceremony hosted by Mark Durden-Smith.
“It was a fantastic night and we’d like to extend huge congratulations to all the winners” said Tim Waples, chief executive of organisers UKMHA. “As ever, it was a hard-fought contest, and every entry deserves recognition for the quality of their nomination.
“Of course, an event like this wouldn’t have been possible without our main category sponsors: IBCS, Combilift, CFTS, Toyota Material Handling, F-TEC, Close Brothers, B&B Attachments, TVH and Mentor; along with our event sponsors: Hubtex, Investec, RTITB and GemOne; our supporters Calor and Transmon Engineering; and our Media Partner HSS.”
Those picking up an Archie included Bennie Equipment, Calor, FB Chain, STILL, Triathlon Battery Solutions, Hiab, Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks, Hyster, and for Safe Site, The Bury Black Pudding Company.
In celebration of rising industry stars, Apprentice of the Year went to Sam Cookson of Toyota Material Handling.
Services to the Industry was awarded to Graham Hanson in recognition of his work at Bennie Equipment.
As usual, the ultimate accolade – Lifetime Achievement – was greeted with particular warmth with the capacity audience acknowledging the huge contribution made by Ivan Groundwater of Groundwater Lift Trucks. Ivan started his working life as an engineering apprentice, and with the support of his wife Kathleen built a highly successful dealership covering a broad swathe of Scotland. Now retired from the role of MD, Ivan is still actively involved in the business focusing once again on the tools and the running of the workshop facilities.
