Fast Plant Expands Lithium-Powered Boom Fleet – Industry News
Independent tool and plant hire company Fast Plant is expanding its fleet of Lithium-powered tracked booms.
The Swindon-based company has invested in two Hinowa Lightlift 17.75 and one Lightlift 20.10 Lithium machine from APS, the UK distributor for Italian manufacturer Hinowa. These units join its existing 20m and 26m Hinowa booms with Lithium-Ion battery backs.
Paul Gurton, sales and transport manager for Fast Plant, said, “The 17.75 fills a gap in our range and helps us to meet growing customer demand for Lithium-powered lifts.
“The Hinowa machines are increasingly requested for internal cleaning and maintenance work on atriums, such as in airports and shopping centres. Our clients really appreciate the emissions-free power, battery life between charges and also the booms’ impressive working envelope.”
Crawler-mounted booms have very low ground pressure and non-marking tracks, making them ideal for working indoors. Fast Plant offers the Hinowa booms for hire with or without an operator nationwide. With a travel width of less than 0.8m and stowed height of less than 2m, the Hinowa Lightlift 17.75 is a compact machine that can pass through narrow doorways. The outriggers self-level at the touch of a button, ensuring a safe and rapid set-up.
Kilo for kilo, the Li-Ion batteries can store substantially more energy than traditional lead batteries – and discharge that energy at higher rates. This ensures that Hinowa Lithium platforms have excellent operational performance while also being quiet, clean and environmentally friendly.
This latest investment takes Fast Plant’s fleet to more than 150 units. Along with the growing fleet of Hinowa tracked machines, the company also offers a wide range of scissor lifts and self-propelled booms.
