Fall Protection for Maintenance and Manufacture | Product News
Capital Safety, a leader in fall protection, confined space and rescue equipment, has launched the new Glyde-SafTM Rail. The Rail has a track system, which enables smooth and uninterrupted travel while working at heights. The system spans a maximum of 6m between supports and can be installed for use indoors and outdoors to support a variety of applications, such as aircraft and vehicle maintenance hangars, manufacturing facilities, railcar applications and warehousing and storage areas.
Unlike traditional cable horizontal lifeline systems, the rigid rail system eliminates sag distance and reduces overall fall clearance from the anchor point to the ground. Clamp-on brackets allow installation to be carried out without drilling into existing structures. Featuring a unique enclosed overhead track system, which is capable of unlimited runs, the Glyde-SafTM Rail reduces both system cost and installation cost. With aluminium alloy extrusions and stainless steel fasteners, this lightweight product is corrosion-resistant and easy to maintain.
Part of the DBI-SALA range this product offers an effective, efficient, reliable rail system that is CEN/TS 16415 and EN 795:2012 type D compliant for a maximum of four users in fall arrest and 2 users in suspended access.
Custom lengths and finishes are available on request. Rob Hirst, product manager of Engineered Systems & Anchors – EMEA at Capital Safety, says,“The Glyde-SafTM has been designed with our customers’ needs in mind, adhering to the key principles of the DBI-SALA range – quality, mobility and safety. This system combines ease of use, flexibility and low maintenance.
