Straightpoint at LiftEx

Straightpoint will show two new innovations, at the LiftEx 2015 show held in Liverpool Exhibition Centre, UK 11-12 November. These include the ATEX and IECEx version of the Radiolink Plus wireless load cell.

The force measurement, load monitoring and suspended weighing load cell manufacturer has exhibited at every LiftEx since organisers, the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA), launched the concept in 2005. The unveiling of the ATEX product combined with a return to the show’s standalone format – it was staged within a safety-themed conglomerate in June 2014.

Straightpoint says that meeting Zone 0 classification is unprecedented in wireless below-the-hook force measurement technology with other suppliers providing products for use in areas categorised only as hazardous as Zone 2.

Straightpoint will also show its new towing device: Towcell, for road going vehicles, which displays wirelessly the force being towed.

Straightpoint director David Ayling said, “We have always approached LiftEx with a level of expectation that is reasonable of a trade association-hosted event and it has continued to provide a great platform from which to show our industry-leading technology. This year we have two new products to share, with the ATEX Radiolink Plus generating a real buzz around the industry. We already have lifting professionals from Malaysia, Singapore, Saudi and Europe committed to visiting Stand 18 and I know they’re also looking forward to spending some time in Liverpool, which is a great venue city.”

The ATEX version of the load cell and wireless handheld unit contains several safety components that permit its use in Zone 0 environments. Towcell, meanwhile, is also based on the blueprint of the Radiolink Plus and has a mounting which, allows it to be fitted to tow hitch or pin hitch without the need for a shackle.

Also new for LiftEx 2015 is a co-located conference that LEEA will host on the second day of the event. Ayling applauded the addition and said this year’s show has all the hallmarks of being one of the best ever.
