Erikkila to Celebrate 100th Anniversary
Erikkila Oy will celebrate its 100th anniversary on 7 June, 2012. Celebrations will be linked to the opening of the factory’s latest extension, which will be used for the new Spartan family of products. The year will also see the publication of a company history written by Anu Erikkilä.
Erikkila has grown from a one-man band into a group employing more than 60 people, with production and sales operations all around the Baltic region. In 1994, the company received an award for the work it conducts in Finland from the Association for Finnish Work, and it has entered and performed well in a work environment competition run by the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries on several occasions.
The company has taken part in the operations of the European Federation of Materials Handling (FEM) for many years, with Juha Erikkilä chairing the small cranes standardisation team and, now, the cranes and lifting group.
Over 70 percent of its products are now exported. The Spartan product family, released in 2010, and the new production facilities built for it, reflect the company’s ability to adapt to the changing market.
