Liebherr container cranes for New Zealand port

Killarney, Ireland-based Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. will deliver two Super Post Panamax ship-to-shore container cranes to the Port of Tauranga in New Zealand. The cranes are scheduled for delivery in 2013 and 2014.

The delivery will bring to seven the number of Liebherr STS cranes operating in the port. The cranes will be identical to those delivered to Tauranga in 2009.

The safe working load of the units is 60 tonnes under spreader, while outreach is 48m and lift height over rail is 32m. The cranes have a hoist speed of 70-175m/min and trolley speed of 220m/min.

The Port of Tauranga has experienced the productivity and low lifetime costs associated with Liebherr cranes since the 1970s. Liebherr has delivered cranes to Tauranga in 1991, 2004 and again in 2009.
