Lift Turn Move to distribute Limpet fall prevention system
Lift Turn Move Ltd (LTM) will distribute a pioneering fall prevention system from Limpet Technology, having generated widespread interest in the equipment on its stand at the entertainment show PLASA, which took place at London’s Earls Court, 9-12 September.
Limpet Technology CEO Stephen Cornwallis said: “Lift Turn Move has a fantastic reputation in the sector and is a great fit for Limpet Technology. We are both delighted at the positive reaction to Limpet among the attendees at PLASA and believe that this demonstrates genuine demand in the stage rigging sector for new and better approaches to height safety.”
The product’s background is in rock climbing but found a market in the energy industry, in wind turbine operations and maintenance. Its potential in other areas has already been recognised.
Cornwallis added: “Limpet combines fall prevention with 90 percent powered climb assist, which means that riggers climbing up and down ladders to stage gantries are going to be safer and healthier. Limpet takes all of the risk and almost all the effort out of climbing long ladders, and its rescue capabilities mean that if there is an emergency, riggers can be evacuated from height quickly and safely.”
John Jones, managing director, Lift Turn Move, said: “I first saw the Limpet in action at the All Energy show in Aberdeen and realised immediately that its innovative height safety features would work perfectly within entertainment rigging applications.
“We are delighted to be able to use the successful debut of Limpet at the PLASA trade show [pictured] as a launch pad for this partnership with Limpet Technology; something which we think will be good for us both—and for safety in the industry.”
