Aerial Lift Supplier Galmon Celebrates 30 Years

Galmon (S) Pte Ltd. of Singapore is commemorating 30 years of excellence in the aerial access industry today. As part of its Pearl Jubilee celebration, Galmon (S) Pte Ltd has pledged to donate S$20,000 per year for the next five years (2012 to 2016) to the South West Community Development Council’s (CDC) Meal Service programme, which ensures are provided to all needy resident who require meals service and enhances quality of life of the needy frail elderly and person with disabilities who are unable to prepare own meals

Both Desmond Ong, founder and CEO of Galmon, and Molly Chan, CFO, presented the S$100,000 cheque donation to Dr Amy Khor, mayor of South West District and Guest of Honour during Galmon’s gala dinner at Shangri-La Hotel on May 20, 2012. The gala dinner saw close to a thousand of Galmon’s staff and business partners come together to celebrate the company’s Pearl Jubilee including Wilson Jones of JLG Industries Inc.), Roger Verallo, chairman of the Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association, PASMA) and Managing Director of Euro Towers Ltd),  and Piero Palmeieri, director of engineering, GSR S.P.A., Italy).

Ong said: “Galmon has come a long way since our humble beginnings as a company that started out with only three people and a fleet size of only six pieces of machines 30 years ago to one of Singapore’s largest aerial work platform specialist today with staff strength close to 200 and fleet size that’s close to three thousand. I am proud of this success as it gives us the ability to give back to the community. I hope that our contributions will ensure that the needy residents will not have to go hungry and have sufficient food to eat.”

In addition to the donation toward the South West Community Development Council’s Meals @ SouthWest Programme, Galmon commemorated the 30th anniversary celebration with a book launch. The 120-page commemorative book titled, “The Art of Rising Above & Beyond”, gives prominence to the company’s history, legacy and vision for the future, while highlighting testimonials from stakeholders. The book is a celebration of milestones and for the people who have made it all possible over the 30 years. Employees who have served in Galmon for 5 to 30 years were also awarded that night. Every guest received the commemorative book together with a decorative glass globe showcasing Galmon’s aerial work platform in it.
