Ainscough selects new generation Valla crane
Machinery moving and installation specialist Ainscough Industrial Services has taken delivery of a new generation 21t Manitex Valla 210R crane – the very first to come off the production line. The industrial crane was sold to Ainscough Industrial Services by Manitex Valla Cranes’ UK and Ireland distributor, Hird. It is one of the first machines in a new generation of electric battery pick-and-carry cranes developed by the Italian manufacturer. The Valla V210R mini crane can be supplied with full wireless remote control for both lifting and drive, or with a conventional cab and wireless remote control combined, the option Ainscough Industrial Services has selected.
It is also extremely compact, with an industry-leading turning circle, allowing the crane to operate in more constrained space than other cranes with an equivalent working load and operating envelope.
Hird sales and after sales manager Carl Cooper says, “We’re very proud to have supplied the very first Valla 210R pick and carry crane to Ainscough Industrial Services here in the UK. “It’s a very special crane, with new capabilities that extend the boundaries of mini crane operation in terms of lifting performance and also sustainability, which is now of increasing importance to our clients.”
Ainscough Industrial Services, is one of the UK’s largest private industrial moving and lifting companies and operates a fleet of Valla mini cranes. It has five depots across the UK, with a head office in Wigan. Specialist services include international machinery relocation and installation plus wind turbine installation and maintenance
The company has selected the Valla V210R with front outrigger bar, which gives it a maximum safe working load (SWL) of 21t. Without the bar, the mini crane has a SWL of 20t. The Valla V210R has a maximum working height of 12.0m (8t) and a maximum working radius of 8.1m (4t). With its hydraulic jib deployed working height in extended to 15m (3t) and radius to up to 10.75m (3t)
The crane has a negative degree boom, enabling it to lift directly from the ground, and provides fume-free operation. Also, thanks to its advanced batteries, it maintains its performance over long periods and has fast-charging capabilities. It is also designed to be highly compact, with a stowed height of just 2000mm and a width of 1980mm, supporting its use in spaces that are highly constrained or where access is challenging.
Meanwhile, the crane’s body length is just 4490mm, making it 272mm shorter than an Audi A4 car. Ainscough Industrial Services has chosen to have its Valla V210R fitted with non-marking tyres, a fixed hook and a hydraulic luffing wrap-around fly jib. Other options available include a combined winch and hook block and a counter balance fork attachment.
The Valla V210R is part of a growing range of new generation ‘V’ pick and carry cranes available from Valla Cranes. Others currently are the Valla 36R, with a SWL of 3.6t, the Valla V80R, with a SLW of 8t, the Valla V110R, with a SWL of 11t.
