Airpes Names New Managing Director; Grows in Germany

Catalan lifting equipment manufacturer Airpes has named Albert Romagosa managing director. Having joined the company four years ago and holding positions in both the sales and export departments, Romagosa will take up his new role in Munich to oversee the company’s increasing activities in Germany.

Josep Compte shares the job title of managing director but will be more involved with sales at head office in Barcelona, Spain. In the short term, Compte will bring up to speed new sales manager Maria Tarres, who steps into Romagosa’s vacated position after two years with the company.

Airpes has two offices in Germany, with sales and service in Munich and administration in Köln. Airpes uses the facilities to provide its full range of lifting, handling and weighing systems, including radio remote controls from Italian manufacturer Autec.

Compte said: “We are always very open to new projects around the world and I cannot tell you what will be next one, but it is true that our resources are not unlimited and we must focus on the key markets of Germany, USA, UK, Brazil and Mexico.”
