Baltkran cranes for nuclear power plant
Kaliningrad, Russia-based crane manufacturer OAO Baltkran has received an order for two 360t cranes for installation at a reactor circuit at the Baltiyskaya nuclear power plant.
Baltkran won a tender held by GK Rosatom for cranes to transfer loads from an outside reactor to a 40m high trestle bridge. Loads will include reactor vessels, steam generators and containers with spent nuclear fuel.
The cranes are designed for heavy duty operation and include a fault diagnostics system developed by Baltkran. Delivery of the cranes is scheduled for 2013 and 2015.
“The most important thing for us is to meet a customer’s expectations. We are happy to provide technical solutions which suit the most demanding requirements of nuclear power plants,” said Arthur Ermolaev, vice president, Baltkran.
