Baltkran produces 100th nuclear crane for power station

Kaliningrad, Russia-based crane manufacturer OAO Baltkran produced its 100th crane for the nuclear industry alone earlier this year for the machine hall at the Novovoronezhskaya Nuclear Power Station. The 500 tonne unit will primarily assist in the assembly of turbine plant and generator stators but will also handle other heavy loads.

The crane is equipped with double trolleys and a traverse system which will allow for tandem lifts and accurate assembly due to its micro motion ability. Baltkran is in the process of manufacturing similar cranes for the Baltiyskaya Nuclear Power Station.

“The most important thing for us is to meet a customer’s expectations. We are happy to provide technical solutions which suit the most demanding requirements of nuclear power plants,” said Arthur Ermolaev, vice president, Baltkran.
