Cattron Group to Give Presentation at ICHC
Details have emerged of the presentation that associate sponsors Cattron Group International, Sharpsville, Pa., will deliver at the Industrial Crane & Hoist Conference (ICHC), which will be co-located at the ProMat trade show at McCormick Place South in Chicago, Ill., on Tues., March 22, 2011. ICHC is staged by Industrial Lift & Hoist magazine.
Cattron, a global designer and supplier of wireless control and automation products, systems, and aftermarket services for the global industrial, rail, and mobile markets, will give a presentation in the case study section of the conference as a member company of the Crane Manufacturers Association of America, a product group of the Material Handling Industry of America, which hosts the ProMat event.
Jeremy Pearson, director of sales, USA, EOT cranes, industrial locomotives, Cattron Group Industrial, will discuss updating from pendant to wireless control at Ellwood Specialty Steel, New Castle, Pa., which provides the tooling industry with a variety of quality tools, including mold and die steel products; plastic molding and extrusion; die casting; forging; aluminum extrusion; and stamping.
"We were using wired pendants but felt it presented an unsafe working environment because it put the operator too close to the load,” said Jim Bistyga, plant manager of Ellwood Specialty Steel.
End users attending ICHC will find out how converting to wireless controls is keeping Ellwood employees safer and more productive.
Pearson has previously held the positions of customer service and field service at Cattron and electronics and communications in the United States Marine Corp. Cattron is a member of American Iron and Steel Technologies Crane Safety Committee.
"We are pleased to participate in the ICHC forum, initially in Chicago,” said Jim Kingerski, executive vice president of marketing and sales at Cattron. “It is these kind of conferences that enable Cattron to hear the voice of the customer regarding new product features, as well as safety considerations. At Cattron, safety is always our first concern as well as our continued emphasis on productivity and efficiency. We are excited to promote our new Cattron control lines as well as our new CattronConnect product for industrial applications."
