CMAA Releases Spanish Edition of Crane Operator’s Manual | Industry News

The Crane Manufacturers Association of America has released a Spanish edition of its Crane Operator’s Manual, Specification No. 79. The guide covers a wide range of topics related to overhead traveling cranes including:

• Hand signals
• Lifting and controlling a load
• Safety and warning devices
• Inspections
• Handling the load, do’s and don’ts
• Terminology
• Illustrations

“With safety being the No. 1 priority in a manufacturing plant, and Spanish being the second most-spoken language in the United States, it was time for the Crane Operator’s Manual to be offered in a Spanish language edition," says Pete Kerrick, vice-president engineering and service for CMAA.
