Economist to Deliver New Orleans Crane Conference Opening Remarks
MCM Events will welcome a leading economist to deliver an opening keynote message to delegates at its jointly-held Crane & Rigging Conference and Industrial Crane & Hoist Conference (CRC/ICHC) at the Hampton Inn Hotel & Suites New Orleans—Convention Center, New Orleans, La., May 23-24, 2012.
The market and economic overview will be provided by Hal Vandiver, CEO of Vandiver & Associates and managing director of the Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA), Hoist Manufacturers Institute (HMI) and Monorail Manufacturers Association (MMA), industry groups of the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA), where he serves as consulting executive.
Vandiver is responsible for the Material Handling Equipment Manufacturing (MHEM) forecast of material handling equipment manufacturing, which is released each quarter by MHIA and looks 12 to 18 months forward to anticipate changes in the material handling and logistics marketplace. His CRC/ICHC keynote will focus on the economy and implications forward for the construction and industrial crane markets.
Later that morning, delegates will split into breakout sessions. Four joint sessions and multiple breakout sessions during the two-day event will offer management-level topics of interest to crane and rigging supervisors, facilities managers, and safety personnel.
