Fast-Growing Lincs Lifts Ltd Expands Into New Premises

Access rental company Lincs Lifts Ltd is marking its first anniversary by expanding into bigger premises.

Starting with less than 30 platforms in October 2016, Lincs Lifts now has more than 130 in its fleet – and has already placed orders totalling £700,000 for new machines in 2018.

Founder Wayne Grainger said: “I felt there was a gap in the market for an independent powered access specialist that had strong local knowledge and a focus on customer service.

“Our first year has been a whirlwind – a lot of hard work, but the business has gone from strength to strength.”

The first machines on its fleet were electric scissor lifts, some towable booms and low-level access platforms. Customer demand led Lincs Lifts to expand rapidly. The fleet is now comprised of hybrid self-propelled booms up to 28 metres working height; 12m – 17m trailer-mounts; an array of electric scissors; and diesel scissor lifts including twin-deck machines.

“While our growth has been rapid, it has all been organic,” said Wayne. “We have very quickly established strong relationships with construction contractors and other end users. We enjoy very high levels of repeat business, which is the best endorsement a customer can give us.”

The company outgrew its original premises in South Park Road, Scunthorpe, and has moved to an adjacent unit that is more than twice the size. The new facility includes a double workshop, transport office, and a parts store room, as well as a larger yard and bigger offices. Lincs Lifts Ltd now employs nine people and operates three HGVs out of its new yard.

“Most importantly, the new site includes dedicated training facilities,” added Wayne. “We are working with IPAF on our accreditation and hope to be offering IPAF courses very soon.”
