Harrington Achieves ISO 9001:2008 Certification

Harrington Hoists Inc., Manheim, Pa., achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification on August 8, 2011.

"Harrington has always been customer focused and we strive to provide quality on every level," said Bret Lussow, business development sales manager. "This was a logical step and it reinforces our commitment to providing customers with the highest quality product, service and support."

Certification was issued after a complete review and audit, by an accredited registrar, of the company’s processes in regards to the design, manufacture and sales of material handling products such as manual, electric and air chain hoists, wire rope hoists, crane systems, and crane components.

In 1998 Harrington’s parent company, Kito Corporation, was awarded the ISO 9001 certificate and, in 2001, it achieved the ISO 14001 certificate.

The ISO is the largest international standards organization in the world and ISO 9001:2008 is the current recognized standard for business quality management systems. The standard provides the necessary framework to improve company efficiency, minimize risk, and maximize opportunity.
