Hirschmann (PAT) Introduces New Indicator System for Mobile Cranes

Hirschmann Automation and Control (PAT), Chambersburg, Pa., has introduced the PRS 40 EZ indicator system for mobile cranes. The PRS 40 EZ replaces their previous model, the PRS 35 EZ. The PRS 40 EZ was designed to incorporate both wireless and hardwired sensors and can be set up to monitor inputs from a single sensor or combinations of sensors such as load, angle, and wind speed. The operator can pre-set limits on each of the sensors with an audible and visual warning when the limits are reached. In addition, the system can also be set up to warn operators in the case of an impending two block condition.

Set-up for the PRS 40 EZ is done through the compact operator's console and the system is also pre-wired for quick installation in the field. In wireless applications the PRS 40 EZ utilizes Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum Technology (FHSS) to ensure accurate and consistent reception of data. FHSS also provides additional protection against interference common to construction job sites. The system incorporates reliable and proven sensor technology with an operating range of up to 1000 feet.
