Independent Hire expands telehandler fleet with Snorkel

UK rental company, Independent Hire, has expanded its telehandler fleet with four Snorkel SR626 compact rough terrain telehandlers.

Servicing the Midlands and South East of the UK from three strategically located branches in Buckinghamshire, Essex and Coventry, Independent Hire offers a comprehensive range of equipment and plant, ranging from power tools and generators, to powered access, excavators, fencing, portable accommodation and much more.

This recent delivery expands Independent Hire’s telehandler offering, which currently includes models with lift heights ranging from 4m to 17m. Ideal for use in small yards, industrial facilities and in confined construction jobsites, compact telehandlers, such as the Snorkel SR626, are popular in the hire sector for their versatility.

The Snorkel SR626 is a reliable and robust telehandler, reaching a maximum lift height of up to 5.79m and capable of carrying loads up to 2600kg. Measuring just 1.89m, and with a stowed height of just 1.93m, the SR626 is popular for use in the construction of multi-story car parks, underground structures and on projects where access to the site may be limited. Equipped with a Yanmar 52kW Stage V diesel engine, the Snorkel SR626 has full-time 4-wheel drive for powerful rough terrain performance, as well as 4-wheel steer, with selectable front, crab and coordinated steering modes for maximum manoeuvrability.

The four Snorkel SR626 telehandlers were handed over to Independent Hire by Snorkel UK area sales manager, Jon Plaskitt earlier this month, and will be deployed in its hire fleet around the UK.

Scott Wilkins, managing director of Independent Hire commented on this recent fleet investment, “Compact rough terrain telehandlers are very popular hire units, which often stay on a jobsite from start to finish thanks to their reduced dimensions. We were impressed with the specifications and build quality of the Snorkel telehandlers, as well as knowing that we have great back-up when needed from the Snorkel UK team, so we decided to add four units to help meet increasing customer demand for this product type.”

Andrew Fishburn, managing director of Snorkel UK, said, “We are incredibly grateful to the Independent Hire team for the trust that they placed in us as they developed their powered access offering. It gives us great pleasure to now support them as they expand their telehandler hire fleet to meet increasing customer demand, and we are sure that these machines will provide many years of service and customer satisfaction.”
