Inspection Techniques the Focus of Spring CCAA Meeting

The Crane Certification Association of America (CCAA) will hold its Spring Conference April 29-May 1, 2012, in San Diego, Calif. Most educational sessions focus on providing inspectors with techniques to improve their craft.

Inspection topics will cover wire rope, welds, overhead cranes, and mobile cranes. In addition, speakers will update members about the latest changes to standards from Cal-OSHA, OSHA Maritime, and ANSI. Other sessions will discuss crane accidents and new products.

In addition, attendees will have an opportunity to take a Certified Crane Surveyor Test in up three specialties—mobile crane, overhead crane, and tower crane. Requirements include a minimum of 2,000 field hours of experience and a paid CCAA membership.
