IPAF Discusses 2011 Milestones in Annual Report

In 2011, the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) reported more than 101,0000 people were trained to become aerial lift operators, and the association issued more than 97,000 PAL Cards worldwide, indicating that while global economics continue to be a mixed bag, the association has grown.

Around the world, IPAF had a total of 896 members from 42 countries. More than half of the membership is now based outside of the UK, IPAF’s original market, and the association welcomed its first members from Argentina, Colombia, Jordan, Peru, South Africa, and Turkey in 2011. Additionally, a Brazilian Country Council was formed in June 2011 to involve these members in the organization.

Other highlights from the year included Monsanto, one of the world’s largest producers of agricultural seed and crop protection products, became an IPAF member; the association staged its Lift Safety Zone at ConExpo/Con-Agg, showcasing ground support requirements; the “Spread the Load!” campaign was launched; and IPAF held its first U.S. Convention in Chicago.

Plans for 2012 include a membership survey, an updated website with mobile version, and a new quarterly eNewsletter.
