LEEA’s new Regional Council for Australia and New Zealand

On Global Lifting Awareness Day – GLAD2021- (8 July) the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) announced the establishment of a newly formed Regional Council for New Zealand and Australia.

It is heralded as an exciting opportunity for the region, as it now has a level of autonomy and direction driven by the Council for the benefit of LEEA’s members based in the two countries and the broader industry.

The group of industry experts will be volunteering their time to grow LEEA awareness and membership in the region.

Justin Boehm LEEA regional manager for Australia and New Zealnd said, “I’m grateful to the industry leaders for volunteering their time to push the industry forward, as we strive for the recognition that our industry deserves.

“We’re focused on ensuring members are recognised for their quality, expertise and professionalism.”

The Council already has in place a four-year work plan focused on five key, strategic priorities, which the council have agreed will be our region’s priorities. These align to LEEA’s strategic priorities of:

  1. Member benefits
  2. Lifting industry standards
  3. Raising awareness of our members
  4. Professional development of people across the industry
  5. Sustainable development
  6. Supporting the global industry

The Regional Council members are: Adam Thompson of Stenhouse Lifting & Safety Solutions; Andy Campbell of BUNZL; Ashley Thacker of Ranger Lifting; Guy Roberts of Nobles; Rob Smit of Cookes; Steve Flint of The Rigging Shed; Navin Kumar of Lifting Victoria; Mark Eberhard of RMB Lifting and David Wilson of Active Lifting Equipment.
