Liebherr Port Handling Units Join Harbour Cranes in Peru
Liebherr Container Cranes has secured an order from Terminales Portuarios Euroandinos in Paita, Peru for the delivery of a Super Post Panamax ship-to-shore (STS) crane and two rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes. The cranes are due for delivery at the end of this year.
The STS crane has a safe working load of 55t under a twin lift spreader, an outreach of 51m, a back reach of 17m and a span of 30.48m. The lifting height above the rail is 36m. The RTGs have four wheels per corner, are capable of stacking 1 over 5 high and span 7 containers and a truck lane.
The RTGs are supplied with many Liebherr features as standard to help deliver exceptional productivity levels. The gantry align steering, for example, eliminates crabbing when travelling along the stack. The cranes also feature Liebherr’s unique eight-rope reeving system that eliminates sway in hoist, trolley, long travel and skew directions.
These cranes are the first Liebherr STS and RTG cranes to be delivered to Peru and will join a pair of Liebherr mobile harbour cranes (LHM 550) that have recently been delivered to the port.
