Lift & Hoist International Grows Stronger with Experienced U.K.-Based Team

Heartland Communications Group Inc. reinforces its position in the equipment media business with the hiring of two veteran publishing professionals. Joining the team are Maria Hadlow, who has been named the editor of Lift & Hoist International, and Guy Harris, who is now the director of international business.

Hadlow has been in the business-to-business publishing industry for more than 20 years, serving a variety of markets from manufacturing, design engineering, and construction. Most recently, she served as the editor of Metalworking Production. She was also the editor of Access International from 2007 to 2012. With a degree in engineering from Hull University, she will bring a technical voice to Lift & Hoist International, as well as its electronic newsletter, LHI eNews, and website, www.int-liftandhoist.com. Hadlow lives in East Sussex, U.K.

With a 15-year history in advertising and event management, Harris also has a strong background in business media and exhibitions. From 2011 to 2015, he was the event director for the Space Tech Expo, a major showcase for the global satellite and spacecraft industry, where he worked with all departments—from marketing to operations—to organize first-class conferences. Prior to that, he was the advertising manager for Access International and International Rental News and the exhibition sales and marketing manager for the International Rental Exhibition. Harris also resides in East Sussex.

Gale McKinney, president and CEO of Heartland Communications Group Inc., said the addition of Hadlow and Harris will help grow the international side of the Fort Dodge, Iowa-based publishing company. “Maria and Guy will bring a fresh view to Lift & Hoist International, its newsletters, and live events,” he said. “We welcome their industry expertise and look forward to their input as we strengthen our industrial lifting publications and web-based and live events in North America, Europe, and the rest of the world.”
