Lift Safe adds low-level MEWPs

One of the UK’s leading independent providers of material handling equipment is expanding its product range with low-level access.

Lift Safe, which is celebrating 20 years in business, has become an authorised distributor for the Safelift range of low-level access platforms. Low-level access equipment is increasingly used instead of stepladders and scaffold podiums for working at height, as it is safer and more productive.

Safelift provides push-around and self-propelled lifts designed for use by one person, with a maximum working height of five metres. Manufactured in Sweden, Safelift customers include IKEA, Saab, Astra Zeneca, and ABB.

Based in Greater Manchester, Lift Safe offers a comprehensive range of pedestrian-controlled and ride-on material handling machinery, including mobile lifters and stackers, as well as scissor tables and counterbalance trucks. These battery-powered machines are used to enhance safety and productivity in a range of industrial and commercial applications, from food and pharma factories to hotels and conference venues.

Jerry Hanss managing director of Lift Safe said, “We have added personnel lifts to our product range in response to demand from our customers. We researched the low-level access market to find a partner who met the criteria for all our products – they must be high-quality, easy to maintain, and hassle-free for the end user. Safelift, therefore, fits extremely well with our existing product portfolio.”

The self-propelled Safelift MoveAround MA50 has automatic parking brakes and can be fully elevated in 16 seconds. Weighing just 380kg, it is designed for working on floors with low weight-bearing capabilities. The compact machine easily passes through standard doorways and can be transported between floors in passenger elevators. Quiet and clean, it runs on 12V battery power and noise is restricted to a maximum of 70 decibels (dB).

The PushAround PA50 has the same performance capabilities; but weighs just 320kg. A smaller version is also available – the PA35, with a 3.5m maximum working height. All three models are now available across the UK from Lift Safe, which also provides nationwide product support.

Hanss added: “Our clients already understand the safety and productivity benefits of using our equipment to lift goods. Replacing ladders and podiums with equipment that lifts people is the next logical step in that journey to a safer and more productive workplace.”
