LiftEx2023 off to a good start

LEEA’s (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) LiftEx 2023 exhibition opened this morning (21 November) at the Exhibition Centre, Liverpool UK. Visitor numbers were healthy on the first morning with many exhibitors expressing satisfaction with the number and quality of conversations they were having.

Ross Moloney CEO of LEEA, said “It is evident that our organisation and other’s such as LHI magazine are being successful in presenting lifting as part of wider industry and supply chains. It is a service industry that operates in numerous arenas – If you use lifting equipment then this is the show for you.”

Steve Fulcher, director of Rigging Solutions and director of LEEA said, “There are users here and that’s a good indication of a successful show. There are a significant number of people coming from the local area with an interest in the lifting industry and that is a credit to Ross and his team for the work they have done reaching out to the local community.

“There is still a lot of engineering work going on in this area stemming from its history in ship building.”

However, the show hasn’t just attracted people from the surrounding area, Justin Boehm, LEEA representative for Australia and New Zealand, was promoting the wider influence of LEEA. “LiftEx does help promote the global nature of the lifting industry,” he said. “LEEA has members across the globe including Australia New Zealand, the Middle East and India – there is a whole world of lifting out there. We are also promoting LiftEx Australia 2024, which will be help on the Gold Coast in September next year.

CoreRFID is the headline sponsor at LiftEx 2023 and CheckedOK its market-leading lifting inspection software in the UK and Ireland is used in industries worldwide. Managing director Munzi Ali said, “LiftEx lets us bring our technology to a wider audience, we have been very pleased with the number of people at the show this morning. By meeting face-to-face we can address the fear of technology that some people might have and help them improve their systems. This is a great venue and we have already spoken to visitors from outside the UK including Germany and Australia.”

Steve Hutin owner and managing director of Rope and Sling Specialists, another sponsor, said, “As a progressive business we think it’s important to help promote events such as LiftEx. We are growing company that offers a lot of opportunities to existing staff and those who join us. We are involved in projects in all parts of industrial lifting – not all of which we can talk about, but our work is becoming increasing bespoke. We design and fabricate engineering solutions in-house and LiftEx offers the opportunity to discuss with prospective customers how we can help them achieve their goals.

Roan Retera General Sales & Marketing Manager of sponsors, Van Beast (Green Pin) said, “LEEA is the leading association for lifting worldwide and they are all about quality, which is why we are pleased to be associated with LiftEx. We have spoken to representatives from a number of industries this morning and it’s already looking like a successful show.

“We are also pleased to know that next year the exhibition will be held in London, which we anticipate will attract even more visitors from around the UK and the world.”
