Manitowoc Appoints John Lanning to Director of Advanced Engineering

The Manitowoc Crane Group, Manitowoc, Wis., recently appointed John Lanning as director of advanced engineering and products. He will be responsible for advanced engineering for the entire Americas region and reports directly to Americas Executive Vice President John Wheeler.

Lanning has more than 20 years of service with Manitowoc and is a seasoned engineer and executive. His previous roles have included project engineer, chief engineer, and director of engineering. He assumed duties as the senior vice president of applications engineering for MCG in October 2000, before becoming director of customer support for Manitowoc Crane CARE in January 2005.

Lanning earned his Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Engineering from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He will continue to reside in Cato, Wisconsin.
