Nissan’s 200,000th Forklift Honored at TM Logistics Celebration
Nissan Forklift Corp., Marengo, Ill., honored its 200,000th forklift and TM Logistics in a presentation in March. The milestone forklift, a Platinum II 3,500-pound cushion IC unit, was produced at Nissan Forklift’s Marengo facility in 2011 and is owned and operated by TM Logistics. TM Logistics is a subsidiary of Hodge Company, Nissan Forklift’s local authorized dealer. Both are located in Dubuque, Iowa.
“We didn’t even know that we had the 200,000th forklift. and then we found out that we’d sold it to TM Logistics, which made it doubly good,” said Tim Hodge, president of Hodge Company. “We had a great first year as a Nissan Forklift dealer, and it will be hard to top 2011, but we’re definitely going to try.”
“We’re proud to present TM Logistics with this commemorative award, not only honoring the 200,000th Nissan Forklift produced here in the U.S.,” said Peter Kruse, president, Nissan Forklift. “But also recognizing the relationship with a great new dealer, Hodge Material Handling, and customer, TM Logistics.”
"We got to witness first-hand the pride that Nissan Forklift places in its product and the value of strong customer relations,” said Mike Hodge, president of TM Logistics. “TM Logistics’ employees have thoroughly enjoyed operating Nissan Forklifts and are asking for more of them.”
Nissan Forklift began manufacturing forklifts in the United States in 1988. It took Nissan Forklift 14 years to produce the first hundred thousand forklifts, but only about half that time to produce the second hundred thousand forklifts.
