O’Brien Installations Expands Into New Manufacturing Facility

As the Canadian economy recovers from one of the worst recessions in recent history, O’Brien Installations Ltd. has made a significant investment in expanding its business. The company recently acquired a 37,000 square-foot facility in Burlington, Ontario, moving its operations from Stoney Creek, where it has been headquartered since 1967, to its new location this month.

Recognizing that it had outgrown its manufacturing space in Stoney Creek, the company has opted to move into a new facility that has double the manufacturing space. With this move, O'Brien is confident it will obtain a greater market share of the crane and door industries by increasing its capacity and moving closer to the Greater Toronto Area, where a large portion of their current and prospective customers do business. The company also believes that the move will create more jobs in a sector of the economy that has hit hard by the recession.

Through efforts of its own sales and service centers, as well as dealers throughout North America, O'Brien's customer list continues to grow.  With three divisions in total (Quebec City, Moncton and Stoney Creek / Burlington), the company has a significant stake of the market share in Eastern Canada and has supplied product throughout North America.

Some of its clients include Salit Steel, Niagara Falls, Ontario; CCI Thermal, Mississauga, Ontario; Hammond Manufacturing, Guelph, Ontario; Samuel Plate, Stoney Creek, Ontario; and Ontario Power Generation, Ontario. Additionally, the company serves general contractors, such as Maple Reinders Constructors Ltd., Ellis Don, PCL Constructors, Graham Construction and Engineering Ltd., Kenaidan Contracting Ltd., Abcott Construction, Lanca Contracting,and Timbro Design Build.
