Gripping Tong Grab Introduced by Bushman Avontec

Bushman AvonTec, Milwaukee, Wis., recently designed and built a 30,000-pound capacity gripping tong grab to handle work rolls in a steel mill. The tong includes chock stabilizers that keep the top-heavy chocks on the ends of the roll from flipping over. Operation is all mechanical and utilizes Bushman AvonTec’s automatic latching device.
